Doughty Designs is the result of a husband-and-wife collaboration rooted in a deep love for animals and artistry. David Doughty ventures into the wild with his camera, capturing stunning moments of wildlife in their natural habitats. Each photograph tells a story—a fleeting expression, a moment of grace, the raw beauty of nature.
Michelle Doughty then takes these photographs and transforms them into something truly special. With careful attention to detail, she hand-draws designs inspired by David's images, translating the essence of each creature into artwork that can be laser-engraved onto beautiful wooden products.
Our Creative Process
Step 1: Photography

Step 2: Hand-Drawing
Michelle carefully studies each photograph and creates original hand-drawn designs, ensuring every detail honours the beauty of the original image.

Using precision laser engraving technology, Michelle brings these designs to life on quality materials like Hevea wood. Each piece is unique—no two are exactly alike—making every item a one-of-a-kind work of art.
