Why we created this guide

At Doughty Designs, wildlife is at the heart of everything we do. Every one of our animal designs begins with one of David's photographs before being carefully turned into unique gifts for animal lovers.

We spend a lot of time watching, photographing and learning about British wildlife, and we wanted to create something useful that could help others care for the animals visiting their gardens too.

During very hot weather, even small acts of kindness can save lives. A shallow dish of water, a shady corner or a few nectar-rich flowers can make a real difference.
